Class Details by Age Group

Pro Soccer Kids organizes group classes by age. Each season is different in terms of the age ranges for classes at various locations, but we use the following as a guide to developing those classes.

 

Age Range Class Details

2.5 to 3 Years

 

40 Minute Class

  • Stretching - 5 minutes
    • Basic techniques
    • Simple, fun way to get started
  • Warm up - 10 minutes
    • Walking/Jogging
    • Forward/Backpedal/Side-to-side
    • Free play
  • Fun Drills - 15 minutes
    • Develop understanding of organized class
    • Familiarize game concept & objects
    • Work on balance, coordination and concentration
    • Introduce walking with ball - "Dribbling"
  • Shooting - 10 minutes
    • Introduction to shooting
    • Horizontal targeting
    • Basic scoring concept

3 to 4 Years

 

45 Minute Class

  • Stretching - 5 minutes
    • Basic techniques
    • Stretch while balancing
    • Engage child's metabolism
  • Warm up - 10 minutes
    • Jogging & basic techniques
    • Races
    • Develop running ability
  • Fun Drills - 15 minutes
    • Walking with ball - "Dribbling"
    • Stopping / trapping ball
    • Shooting to goal
    • Soccer-style kicking technique
  • Basic Game - 15 minutes
    • Introduction to game environment
    • Basic rules
    • Having fun and learning good sportsmanship!

4 and 5 Years


50 Minute Class
  • Stretching - 5 minutes
    • Intermediate techniques
    • Prepares growing child
    • for physical activity
  • Warm up - 10 minutes
    • Exercises with the ball
    • Jogging & Running
  • Fun Drills - 20 minutes
    • Run Dribbling
    • Introduction to passing
    • Shooting improvement
    • Using head/chest/knees
    • Combo passing/receiving
  • Intermediate Game - 15 minutes
    • Proper team game
    • Beginner team concepts & rules cont'd

6 to 8 Years

1 Hour Class

  • Streching - 5 minutes
    • Static stretch (stationary)
    • Dynamic strech (motion)
    • Prep for longer class
  • Warm up - 10 minutes
    • Exercises with ball
    • Fast feet techniques
    • Focus on speed & quickness
  • Skill Drills - 20 minutes
    • Pass/Receive ground/lofted ball
    • Intermediate dribbling - using
    • all parts of foot
    • Shooting excercises
    • Introduction to player positions
    • Ball control using head, chest, knee, and instep
    • Additional rules and regulations
    • Sportsmanship, team play/awareness
  • Scrimmage - 25 minutes
    • Full game
    • Fun, competitive play
    • Skill synthesis - putting it all together
