The coaching staff will instruct, challenge, and facilitate development of your child's skills in the game from the beginner level onward. Your child will learn the rules, strategy, and sportsmanship that will further enhance their enjoyment of the beautiful game. Our program is developed and structured to suit the particulars of your child's age group and unique needs. We provide all equipment (age appropriate soccer balls and nets, cones, etc.) for your child.
YOUR FIRST CLASS
Plan to arrive 10-15 minutes early for the first class, so that you can meet the other kids in the class, parents and coaches, as well as pick up a T-shirt (if one is given for your class). Your PSK Coach will have a roster with all the registered children, so there is no need to bring a receipt to the class. Coaches cannot accept payment, so make sure you have paid PRIOR to the first class.
Please make sure your child has water or juice for each class. Sorry, no toys or food are allowed on the playing surface (gym floor or soccer field) and siblings must remain supervised on the sideline at all times. Shin guards are not necessary for kids under seven (age 7 and up should wear them), and cleats are for outdoor use only, age 7 and up.
Occasionally, for the younger kids, a child may be shy or in need of parent support for the first few classes. It is perfectly fine for you to join your child in the class to help him or her adjust. We also encourage you to stay and watch the class; it’s a lot of fun!
If your class is outdoors and it is raining, you will be advised of CLASS CANCELATION BY E-MAIL. We will also POST AN ANNOUNCEMENT on our website homepage. If in doubt, or you do not have access to the internet, please call our office at 516-432-3609. All rain days will be added on at the end of the season.
